[{"type":"text","content":"\n\nIQE plc\nReach\n \nCardiff, UK\n3 August 2023\n \n \nIQE CEO Americo Lemos confirmed as member of UK Government Semiconductor Advisory Panel\n· Key element of the UK Semiconductor Strategy, the Panel brings together expertise from across industry and academia to work towards the Government's Strategy goals\n \nIQE plc (AIM: IQE, \"IQE\" or the \"Group\"), the leading supplier of compound semiconductor wafer products and advanced material solutions to the global semiconductor industry, is pleased to announce that its CEO, Americo Lemos, has today joined the UK Government's Semiconductor Advisory Panel.\nAmerico joins the Panel, confirmed by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and first announced in the UK Government's Semiconductor Strategy released in May. The Panel includes representatives from across business and academia and will convene every two months to advise how industry and Government can work together to develop the UK semiconductor ecosystem.\nThe work of the Panel will be guided by the three key goals set out in the Semiconductor Strategy, namely growing the domestic semiconductor sector, mitigating the risk of supply chain disruptions and protecting national security.\n \nThe Strategy identified compound semiconductors as one of the areas in which the UK is world-leading, and maintaining this position in compound semiconductor innovation and manufacturing will be critical. These semiconductors will deliver next-generation technology in key applications ranging from 5G communications, electric and autonomous vehicles, to the efficient energy infrastructure that will be necessary to achieve Net Zero.\n \nAmerico Lemos, CEO of IQE, said:\n\"I am pleased to be representing the semiconductor manufacturing industry on the Government's Advisory Panel.
