The world's largest maritime credentialing initiative, enrolments in the program currently exceed 500,000 applicants at approximately 149 port locations nationwide. \n\n \nThe TWIC program's goal is to ensure that any individual who has unescorted access to secure areas of port facilities and vessels has received a thorough government background check and is not a security threat; individuals will then be issued a biometric-based credential.
