RSA Card\nManager is powered by Intercede's MyID technology, under an OEM licence\nagreement announced in 2005. This order was placed by GSA on behalf of a\nsignificant +100,000 person independent federal agency, not previously announced\nby Intercede.\n\n\n\nGSA Award Notice http://www.fbo.gov/spg/GSA/FTS/ASD3TS/Awards/\nGST0307DSC3001.html values this contract at $952,977. Under the terms of\nIntercede's OEM contract with RSA, Intercede will receive an agreed percentage\nof this contract value.\n\n\n\nAlthough the contract has only recently been awarded, RSA Card Manager was used\nto issue a HSPD-12 credential to the Commissioner of the Agency concerned on\nWednesday October 18, 2006, in advance of the mandated October 27, 2006\ndeadline.\n\n\n\nRichard Parris, Chairman & Chief Executive of Intercede, commented:\n\n\n'Intercede are delighted that RSA Security have been selected to provide a MyID\npowered solution to this important Agency. This announcement demonstrates that\nMyID has the flexibility and scalability to be deployed in a large Federal\nAgency where multiple technologies and solutions have been integrated to deliver\nan end-to-end capability.'\n\n\n\nAbout HSPD-12\n\n\nHSPD-12 is one of the most important and high profile security directives of\nrecent years. It was issued by President Bush himself in August 2004 and\nrequired, firstly, the creation of an official federal standard (FIPS-201) for\nPersonal Identity Verification (PIV), which would prescribe technologies and\nprocesses for the effective vetting and access control of all federal employees\nand contractors. The second requirement of HSPD-12 was for every US Federal\nAgency to have implemented a PIV solution by the end of October 2006, with all\nemployees and contractors required to have a personal-201 compliant, smart card\nbased identity card one year later.
