[{"type":"text","content":"\n Immupharma PLC\n26 February 2008\n\n\nFor Immediate Release 26 February 2008\n\n\n\n\n ImmuPharma PLC\n\n\n First Lupus patients dosed with IPP-201101 in phase IIb study\n\n\nImmuPharma PLC (LSE:IMM), ('ImmuPharma' or the 'Company'), the specialist drug\ndiscovery and development company, announces today that the first patients have\nbeen dosed in its phase IIb trial of IPP-201101 for the treatment of Systemic\nLupus Erythematosus. Assuming continued satisfactory patient recruitment with\nthe trial, headline efficacy data are expected in the summer of 2008 as\npreviously indicated.\n\n\nThe phase IIb clinical study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of\nIPP-201101 in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). The primary\nobjective of the study is to assess the effect of subcutaneous IPP-201101 on the\nsigns and symptoms of disease activity in subjects with active SLE, over a\n12-week treatment period, compared to placebo.\n\n\nThe phase IIb study has been designed as a multicenter, randomized,\ndouble-blind, placebo-controlled dose-ranging study to evaluate the safety,\ntolerability and efficacy of two doses of subcutaneous IPP-201101 plus standard\nof care, versus placebo plus standard of care in Subjects with SLE. The first\npatients have been dosed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The study is being\nconducted in 7 countries in 43 sites, across Europe and Latin America, and is\nexpected to enrol up to 204 patients.\n\n\nDr Robert Zimmer, MD, PhD, President and Chief Scientific Officer of ImmuPharma\nsaid: 'We are delighted to announce further progress in IPP-2011101 development\nwhile we believe more than ever that IPP-201101 will significantly improve\ntreatment options and the quality of life for SLE patients.
