[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nCALGARY, Feb. 27 /CNW/ - (Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd.) (TSX: IDL), the\nglobal leader in digital radiography for image quality and value, today\nannounced that it was awarded the patent for a dual energy optically coupled\ndigital radiography system. This is the 7th U.S. patent and one of many\npatents that have been awarded to IDC in countries around the world for\ntechnology innovations in digital radiography.\n\n\nAccording to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates\nto an optically coupled digital radiography method and apparatus for\nsimultaneously obtaining two distinct images of the same subject, each of\nwhich represents a different X-ray energy spectrum. The two images may be\ncombined in various ways such that anatomical features may be separated from\none another to provide a clearer view of those features or of underlying\nstructures."\n\n\nRobin Winsor, IDC's Chief Technical Officer and inventor states, "Dual\nenergy imaging allows a doctor to view bone and soft tissue images separately,\nproviding greatly improved diagnostic information. IDC's method of CCD based\ndual energy imaging is an advance over other methods because it captures all\nthe necessary data in a single exposure, thereby eliminating patient motion.\nIt does this while still providing the high speed and throughput that makes\ndirect digital the clear choice over cassette based CR imaging."\n\n\n"Our continued commitment to technological innovation is the hallmark of\nIDC and a driving force behind our global leadership," states Michelle\nNaismith, IDC Marketing Manager.\n\n\nThe inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,330,532 on February 12, 2008.\n\n\nThe patent has been assigned to Imaging Dynamics Co. Ltd. Calgary.\n\n\nAbout IDC\n\n\nIDC (Imaging Dynamics Company) is a medical technology company and\ninnovative force in the fast-growing field of digital radiography (DR)\ntechnology. IDC's X-Series of direct capture technology replaces conventional\nfilm-based X-rays and provides a cost-effective alternative to cassette based\nfilm or computed radiography (CR) systems.\n\n\nEach IDC DR solution provides high resolution radiographic images in the\ndigital format required for today's electronic medical record networks, all\nwithout the use of film, environmentally harmful chemicals, cas...
