(TSX: IDL)\nannounced today that its new line of X-Series direct digital X-ray technology\nhas been designated preferred technology by the Vancouver Island Health\nAuthority (VIHA) to replace less efficient cassette-based Computed Radiography\n(CR) systems currently in use. Along with this designation, IDC has received a\ncommitment from VIHA to purchase six (6) DR systems for immediate delivery.\n\n\n"We are continuously upgrading the diagnostic capabilities at our\nhospitals and imaging centers. As is true of most large medical facilities in\nCanada, we strive to provide the most modern digital imaging technologies\navailable while working with limited funds," said Dr. John Mathieson, Director\nof Diagnostic Imaging for VIHA. "We searched extensively for the right\ncombination of high performance technology and affordable cost and believe the\nnew X-Series line from IDC represents the strongest available combination of\nimage quality, features and economics. We are pleased to be working with an\naward-winning Canadian company to bring high quality digital imaging to a wide\nrange of healthcare sites across Vancouver Island."\n\n\nVIHA will initially replace six (6) rooms of CR equipped radiography\nsystems with three (3) different configurations of new X3C detector equipped\nIDC digital radiography (DR) systems. These new rooms will be installed at\nNanaimo Regional General Hospital (Nanaimo, BC), West Coast General Hospital\n(Port Alberni, BC), Cowichan General Hospital (Duncan, BC) and several smaller\nclinics.\n\n\n"We look forward to the opportunity to work with the professional imaging\nteams at VIHA and showcasing our latest technology here as a luminary site.
