IDC Named Preferred DR Provider in Two Alberta Health Regions

Nets Initial Orders for Three DR Systems in Provincial RSHIP Project

CALGARY, June 6 /CNW/ - Imaging Dynamics Company (IDC) (TSX: IDL), has been named the preferred digital radiography (DR) system provider in the East Central and Northern Lights Health Regions of Alberta. Along with this designation, IDC has received an initial order for three DR systems.

An Xplorer 2200 dual detector system is now installed and operational at St. Joseph's General Hospital in Vegreville in the East Central Health Region. In addition, an Xplorer 2200 system has been ordered for Northern Lights Medical Center in Fort McMurray and an Xplorer 1600 is on its way to the community health center in LaCrete, both in the Northern Lights Healthcare Region.

After extensive evaluation the selection teams chose IDC DR systems for their patients because of many special positioning features and advanced imaging capabilities. Close proximity of the IDC technology development and support team in Calgary was also an important factor.

"It is especially satisfying to see IDC products coming back to our roots, where the technology was invented and this company is based," said Darryl Stein, IDC President & CEO. "Our DR systems are gaining popularity around the world, but becoming a preferred provider in Alberta really means a lot to all of us who live and work here in this province."

CAN-med Healthcare (Halifax, NS) is IDC's business partner for the RSHIP project.

About RSHIP:

The Regional Shared Health Information Program (RSHIP) is a collaborative effort of seven Alberta health regions to create a shared Electronic Health Record. An integral part of this project is the replacement of film based general radiography equipment with digital imaging technology.

RSHIP encompasses nearly 100 facilities and over 6,000 beds encompassing acute care, continuing care, and public health needs serving more than one million Albertans. The Alberta Health and Wellness and Canada Health Infoway plan to invest $189 Million in Provincial EHR projects with the objective of creating an electronic health record for every Albertan by 2008.
