Vancouver, British Columbia, April 15, 2010. This week Kalahari Resources Inc. (KLA.V) announced the initial results from their drill program on the Lamaque Property located on the outskirts of Val d’Or Quebec and immediately south of the Lamaque and Sigma mines, which have collectively produced over nine million ounces of gold.
Drilling in the Forestel Zone intersected gold mineralization in all holes and discovered what appears to be a new zone. Notable intersections include 7.97 g/t gold over 2.65 m and 15.05 g/t gold over 1.00 m. FOR-09-03 suggests some possible continuity in mineralization between the Forestel and the better known No. 10 Vein. Assay results from drilling at the Triangle Zone are pending.
Known zones of gold mineralization on the Lamaque Property are comprised of various simple vein structures, vein complexes and stockwork zones. The No. 4 Plug and the No 10 Vein collectively have a 2004 NI 43-101 inferred resource of 1,365,000 tons grading 0.275 ounces/ton gold. Kalahari's current program aims to define new resources, and update the existing resources estimates with a goal of delineating 4-5 million tonnes of high-grade gold mineralization.
