According to Feed Ontario, food banks saw a 26 per cent increase in first time visitors at the start of the pandemic, while facing service and operational challenges to keep visitors, staff and volunteers safe. With Feed Ontario's ability to provide three meals for every dollar, Hydro One's contribution of\n \n $150,000\n \n will provide the equivalent of 450,000 meals to help Ontarians facing hunger.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The support from Hydro One comes as food banks brace for another increase in use. With its experience responding to past financial and natural crises, Feed Ontario anticipates that the lasting impacts of the pandemic will only increase demand as more families exhaust all other options.
