[{"type":"text","content":"William Schweighofer, Chairman of the Board for The Honesdale National Bank announced that David E. Raven, the Bank’s President and CEO will retire from his 37-year career in banking effective December 31, 2021. Thomas E. Sheridan, Jr. has been named his successor and will assume responsibilities of the role beginning December 1.  In making the announcement, Schweighofer stated, “The Board is greatly appreciative of Dave’s leadership and guidance of our institution over the past four years and are proud of the growth and performance he has aided us in achieving.  We look forward to having Tom rejoin the HNB family and are confident that his leadership, community involvement and banking expertise will ensure a bright future for the Bank, our customers, shareholders and the communities we serve.”“It has been an honor and pleasure contributing to the ongoing growth and carrying on the long-standing traditions of The Honesdale National Bank,” Raven said. “I have full confidence that the Bank will continue to play a positive role in shaping the opportunities available to our region under Tom’s leadership.”   Sheridan is no stranger to the Bank or leadership role, having previously served as President and CEO for the Bank.  Sheridan first joined The Honesdale National Bank in May 2001 as executive vice president and chief operating officer and was named vice president and treasurer of Honat Bancorp, Inc. in 2004. Prior to joining The Honesdale National Bank, Sheridan held various positions at another financial institution leaving that company as chief operating officer. His banking career began in 1978 when he worked at the Hawley Bank.Sheridan received his B. S. in accounting from the University of Scranton in 1979. He also received his Certified Bank Auditor Certificate from the Bank Administration Institute in 1984 and went on to get his MBA in accounting from the University of Scranton in 1986.Sheridan successfully completed the Pennsylvania Banker Association’s Executive Leadership Program in December 2007.Sheridan is an active member of the Wayne County community and has most recently served as an advisory board member for The Honesdale National Bank Foundation.  He has previously held positions with the Wayne County Community Foundation, The Human Resources Center, Inc. and the Wayne Memorial ...
