The\nweakness in the US was offset by a strong performance from the multinational\nPharma company's Injectable and Branded businesses. CEO, Said Darwazah, said\n\"The US operations, in 2007, reported operating profit of about $30m and in\n2008 we had a loss there so in spite of this $30m plus loss the other\ndivisions, the Branded and the Injectables, performed so well, grew so much\nthat they were able to offset that.\"\n\n\n\n Noting the current macro economic downturn Mr Darwazah said Hikma's\ndiversified business model, both by geography and product, would support\ngrowth in 2009. \"It's going to be a very, very tough year.
