[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 2722H Boot(Henry) PLC 31 July 2019 \n\n \n31 July 2019\n \n \n \n \n \nHENRY BOOT PLC\n('Henry Boot', 'the Company' or 'the Group')\nSECOND STAGE OF £180 MILLION REGENERATION PROJECT SECURED\nHenry Boot PLC, a company engaged in land promotion, property investment and development, and construction, announces that its subsidiary, Henry Boot Construction Limited has signed a contract with Barnsley Council to deliver Phase 2 of The Glass Works development scheme.\nThe Glass Works Phase 2 is the second stage of a £180 million regeneration project which commenced back in March 2016. Phase 1, also completed by Henry Boot Construction, saw the creation of the new state-of-the-art Library @ the Lightbox and the transformation of Barnsley Markets, to establish a new home for the town's market traders.\nPhase 2 of the works are set to include 100,000 sq ft of new retail space for a variety of shops and over 25,000 sq. ft of cafés and restaurants that will frame a new landscaped public square and create a new shopping route. Two key leisure anchors - Cineworld and Superbowl UK and more than 90,000 sq. ft of leisure facilities will also be delivered. Cineworld will offer a modern, 13 screen multiplex cinema, whilst Superbowl UK will provide a fun environment for all ages with ten pin bowling.\nCommenting on the contract, Simon Carr, Managing Director, Henry Boot Construction, said:\n\"We are delighted to have secured Phase 2 of The Glass Works, building on the success of Phase 1 where we maintained exceptional working relationships with our partners and supply chain, working collaboratively together to deliver the project to the very highest standards.
