(TSX: HBP/Frankfurt:\nWKN 918864) today announced financial results for the second quarter of fiscal\n2007, ended January 31, 2007.\n\n\nHIGHLIGHTS\n----------\n\n- Initiated enrollment in Phase II clinical trial with Topical\n Interferon Alpha-2B in patients with ano-genital warts\n\n- Completed Phase II clinical study with Topical Interferon Alpha-2B in\n patients with low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions\n\n- Signed L-DOS47 manufacturing agreement with Biovectra DCL\n\n- Presented L-DOS47 findings at Keystone Symposia meeting, "Antibodies\n as Drugs: From Basic Biology to Clinic"\n\n- Presented L-DOS47 findings at the fourth international conference on\n "Tumour Microenvironment" in Florence, Italy\n\n- Shareholders approved all management proposals and elected\n management's slate of directors at the 2007 annual meeting of\n shareholders, following a proxy dispute\n\n\nRESULTS FROM OPERATIONS\n\n\nThree and six month period ended January 31, 2007 and comparative periods\n\n\nfor the previous year\n\n\nThe Company recorded a loss of $1,900,000 and $3,242,000 respectively for\nthe three and six month periods ended January 31, 2007 for a loss per common\nshare of $0.05 and $0.09, respectively. In the comparative three and six month\nperiods ended January 31, 2006, the Company realized a loss $1,311,000 and\n$2,762,000 respectively for a loss per common share of $0.04 and $0.09,\nrespectively.\n\n\nTotal revenues for the three month period ended January 31, 2007 were\n$892,000 (2006 - $1,105,000), resulting in a decrease of $213,000 or 19.3%.\nTotal revenues, on a year-to-date basis were $1,718,000 (2006 - $2,011,000),\nresulting in a decrease of $293,000 or 14.6%. Lower overall revenues for both\nthe three and six month periods ended January 31, 2007 were due primarily to\nlower product revenues in the second quarter of fiscal 2007 from the sale of\nOrthovisc(R), as price reductions and increased product sampling of\ncompetitive product continued into the second quarter of fiscal 2007.
