[{"type":"text","content":"\n Helical Bar PLC\n01 August 2007\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1 August 2007\n\n\n\n Helical Bar plc ('Helical' or 'the Company')\n\n\n\n HELICAL BAR ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS OF MICHAEL BROWN AS DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE\n AND THE PROMOTION OF MATTHEW BONNING-SNOOK AND JACK PITMAN TO THE BOARD\n\n\n\n\n\nHelical Bar is delighted to announce a number of changes to its Board.\n\n\n\nIn recognition of their growing influence in the Company's increasingly diverse\nactivities and their contribution to its performance, Matthew Bonning-Snook and\nJack Pitman have been appointed to the main board as Executive Directors with\nimmediate effect.\n\n\n\n • Matthew Bonning-Snook (39) oversees many of Helical's office and mixed use \n developments. Prior to joining Helical in 1995, he worked for RichardEllis\n (now CBRE).\n\n\n\n• Jack Pitman (38) is responsible for many of Helical's change of use\n projects and for a number of joint venture relationships. Before joining \n the Company in 2001, he previously worked for Chester Properties Ltd.\n\n\n\nNo further details remain to be disclosed for either appointment as required\nunder LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.\n\n\n\nIn addition, the board is pleased to confirm that Michael Brown (46), currently\nthe Company's Investment Director and an Executive Director since 1998, has been\nappointed Deputy Chief Executive with immediate effect. Michael has worked for\nHelical since 1997, during which time he has been responsible for Helical's\ninvestment activities and played a major part in driving the growth and\nperformance of the Company.\n\n\nFounders Michael Slade (Chief Executive) and Nigel McNair Scott (Finance\nDirector), together with Gerald Kaye (Development Director since 1994), maintain\ntheir long-standing roles within the Company.\n\n\nCommenting on the appointments, Giles Weaver, Chairman of Helical Bar, said:\n\n\n\n'The enlarged board will help sustain the energy and creative flair that has\nbeen at the heart of Helical's success as a listed property company over the\nlast 22 years.'\n\n\n\nMichael Slade, Helical's Chief Executive, added:\n\n\n\n'These important promotions reflect our ambition to sustain our track record of\ndelivering significant value for our shareholders.\n\n\n\n'The protection of our shareholders' interests, the delivery of the Company's\nstrategy a...
