[{"type":"text","content":" NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--\nHealthStream (Nasdaq: HSTM) announced today that it has entered into a partnership with the Park City, Utah-based S.T.A.B.L.E. Program to offer healthcare providers an updated, online option for completing their internationally recognized neonatal education program. The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program focuses on improving the knowledge and skills of each member of the perinatal healthcare team that provides care to both well and sick infants. Since 2001, more than 600,000 neonatal and obstetric healthcare providers have completed a S.T.A.B.L.E. Program learner course in an instructor-led training session. Through the new partnership with HealthStream, the popular S.T.A.B.L.E. Program will now be available online, exclusively from HealthStream.\n\n\nAmong the approximately four million births in the U.S. each year, thousands of newly born infants become ill and require specialized care. The early transitional care affects not only the immediate health of the infant, but also the infant’s long-term outcome. Dr. Kristine Karlsen, creator and director of the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program, said, “The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program was developed to meet the educational needs of healthcare providers who must be ready to deliver critically important stabilization care to infants. To make the program more widely available and easily accessible, partnering with HealthStream to offer an online version was an ideal solution—as their workforce platform has an immediate, broad reach to the nation’s healthcare providers, including their neonatal and obstetric care teams.”\n\n\nBased on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention, and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement, stresses communication and teamwork as well as the professional responsibility of evaluating care provided to sick infants, with the ultimate goal of improving future care. Dr. Karlsen has won numerous awards for the efficacy and clinical impact of the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program from many of the healthcare industry’s most highly respected organizations, including the National Perinatal Association, the National Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics, ...
