[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n11 July 2014\n\n Haydale Graphene Industries plc \n\n (\"Haydale\" or the \"Company\") \n\n Announces Collaboration Agreement with Swansea University's Welsh Centre for \n Printing and Coatings (\"WCPC\") \n\nHaydale Graphene Industries plc (AIM:HAYD), the Company focused on enabling\ntechnology for the commercialisation of graphene, is pleased to announce that\nit has signed a research and collaboration agreement with the WCPC, one of the\nworld's leading R&D centres for printing and coating processes, based at\nSwansea University.\n\nThe WCPC will develop and refine commercial ink formulations supplied by\nHaydale to meet the growing interest in graphene based inks and coatings. The\ncollaboration is also investigating the exploitation of functionalised graphene\nand other carbon nano-materials developed by Haydale in areas such as\ntransparent conductive films, barrier coatings and 3D printing.\n\nProfessor Tim Claypole, College of Engineering Swansea University and Director\nof WCPC, will lead the WCPC programme.\n\nCommenting, Haydale Chief Executive, Ray Gibbs said:\n\n\"Working with the WCPC is a key element of our focus on inks and coatings and\nis a great fit for us. Having access to a wide range of nano materials and then\nusing our unique functionalisation process means we can provide the most\nappropriate material for the WCPC to use. In turn, the resources and capability\nat the WCPC mean we can move quickly on product development. We have already\nsuccessfully produced a consistent quality conductive ink that we are now\nstarting to market. This collaboration is all about taking the next step\ntowards the commercial uptake of our inks by demonstrating that we can\nsuccessfully functionalise the right material to meet specific manufacturing\nneeds.\"\n\nProf Tim Claypole, founder and director of the WCPC, Swansea University, added\n\"this is a good example of where the expertise and facilities of the WCPC,\nwhich have been developed with the support of the Welsh Government Academic\nExpertise for Business (A4B) programme, are being used to help a help a leading\nedge Welsh company grow its highly innovative product portfolio.\"\n\n\"A crucial part of this project is the development of standard operating\nprocedures for the manufacturing process that will ensure a highly consistent,\nquality product.
