"Union Bound," the acclaimed Civil War feature based on the
true story of a captured union solder who was freed by slaves, is now into its ninth
consecutive week as a new release DVD at USA Walmart locations, reported
distributor Hannover House, Inc. (OTC: HHSE). The feature film, which was directed by Harvey Lowry and produced by Michael
Davis, originally launched to home video on August 2 following a national
theatrical release by Hannover House and Medallion Releasing on April 22.
"This
is a very encouraging sign for the title's longevity in the DVD market" said
Eric Parkinson, C.E.O. of Hannover House. "Many independent studio releases last only one or two weeks on the new release shelves
with mass merchants. Each title must
earn its right to stay on the shelves through actual sales turns, and 'Union Bound' is definitely making the
grade."
Hannover
House has been placing two to three new release DVDs into Walmart for each of
the past six months, marking a new placement achievement record for the 21-year
old media distributor. Hannover House is
located in Springdale, Arkansas, near to the world headquarters of Walmart
Stores, Inc., the world's largest company and retailer commanding a whopping
52% share of all DVD and BluRay sales in the United States. Hannover House has a film library of more
than 300 feature film and video titles, and is active in theatrical distribution,
international licensing and video-on-demand distribution.
