The recent addition of new titles and supplier studio partners under the Medallion Releasing venture for indie-distributor, Hannover House, Inc. (OTC: HHSE), is already generating significant benefits, the company reported today. Revenues have been growing in proportion to the enhanced slate of theatrical and home video titles, and the size of the company's staff is being adjusted accordingly. In order to service a distribution slate that now includes twelve theatrical releases and ninety or more home video titles each year, the Hannover House sales and marketing team is adding five new staffers and one new senior manager.
New staff positions include: Media Buyer (a middle-management position needed to administer a multimillion dollar media budget); Director of Promotions (also a middle-management position, to develop and implement promotions ranging from local market campaigns to national cross-promotional ventures); Film Booker (an assistant level position to help coordinate and organize theatrical location dates and deliveries); Director of Technical Services (a technical position handling mastering for media deliveries, ranging from DCP masters to theatres to Netflix, I-Tunes, VODWIZ and other video-on-demand platforms); Social Media and Internet Manager (a mid-level position for the creation and implementation of campaigns primarily utilizing social media delivery platforms).
In addition to these five positions, the company is also seeking a senior level management executive to oversee all activities with the company’s upcoming consumer launch of the VODWIZ streaming portal venture – which will enable consumers to stream movies and television programming from more than a dozen supplier studio with collectively more than 4,000 titles.
Principal supplier labels under the Medallion Releasing venture (in addition to Hannover House branded products) include Green Apple, CMD, XVIII, Fever Dreams and ESS. During 2015, the total of new release and re-promoted DVD and BluRay titles to date from all suppliers is now at sixty-five, with a slate of multipacks, pricing promotions and new releases shipping before year’s end expected to bring the total to more than ninety video releases for the year.
For each of the two full years prior to forming Medallion Releasing, Hannover House released a total of eight or fewer titles. The ten-fold increase in total video releases has been fueling a significant growth in revenues, new customers and activities for the company.
Hannover House was formed in 1993 as a book publisher. DVDs were added as a product line in 2003, and by 2004, the company began dabbling in limited release theatrical titles such as "Off The Lip", "Hounddog" and "War Eagle, Arkansas" to enhance the films' profile for the DVD and Video-On-Demand markets. In 2010, Hannover House licensed the Joel Schumacher thriller, "Twelve" at the Sundance Film Festival , which was ultimately released by Hannover House to 220 theatres, before becoming a significant DVD and Blu-Ray hit through a distribution pact with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. In 2011, Hannover House released the nature documentary "Turtle: The Incredible Journey" as well as the Christina Ricci comedy "All’s Faire in Love" each to about 100 theatres. Other, limited theatrical releases include "Racing Dreams", "Cook County", "Asalto Al Cine" and "The Weather Station." Current theatrical releases include the Dean Jones thriller "Dark Awakening", the politically-charged terrorism thriller, "The Algerian" and the nature docudrama "Bonobos: Back to the Wild." In addition to the major release of "Dancin' It's On" in October, the company is planning limited release launches to twenty or less theatres for three additional films, with 2016 set for three major titles (each launching onto 600 or more screens).
