GreenRoc Consortium Receives £1.2m Danish Grant
GreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc has received a significant grant of up to DKK 10,448,826 (approximately £1.2 million) from the Danish Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) for its "EU-Graphite" project. This funding, awarded to GreenRoc's Danish subsidiary and its consortium partners, will support the development of an environmentally friendly, hydrofluoric acid-free graphite purification technique over 24 months, with approximately £730,000 allocated to GreenRoc for advancing its active anode material processing capabilities. The project aims to establish a European end-to-end graphite supply chain, reducing reliance on overseas processing and validating a sustainable, pilot-scale purification process. Disclaimer*

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\nGreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc / EPIC: GROC / Market: AIM / Sector: Mining\n \n15 December 2025\nGreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc\n(\"GreenRoc\" or the \"Company\")\n \nGreenRoc Consortium Receives £1.2m Danish Grant\n \nGreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc (AIM: GROC), a company focused on the development of critical mineral projects in Greenland, is delighted to announce that its wholly owned Danish subsidiary GreenRoc DK a/s, together with its consortium partners, has been granted a sum of up to DKK 10,448,826 (ca £1.2m) for its proposed project entitled \"EU-Graphite: Building European production of graphite active anode material\" (\"EU-Graphite\") from the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (\"EUDP\"), a Danish government funding programme.\n \nDetails\nIn August 2025, GreenRoc and partner institutions Danish Technical University (\"DTU\") and Institute for Product Development (\"IPU\"), a private Danish advanced engineering consultancy company (together, the \"Consortium\"), applied for a grant to support GreenRoc's technical development of active anode material (\"AAM\") processing capacity.\n \n \nA total grant of of DKK 10,448,826 (circa £1.2m) has been awarded to the Consortium and will cover expenses related to the EU-Graphite project for 24 months, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027, with EUDP covering 60% of the qualifying expenses incurred by GreenRoc and IPU and 90% in the case of DTU. All of the DKK 10.4m grant funding awarded will be directed towards the development of GreenRoc's AAM processing capabilities with approximately DKK 6.3m (ca. £730k) payable to GreenRoc, approximately DKK 1.9m (ca. GBP 220k) to DTU and DKK 2.3m (ca. £260k) to IPU.\n \nCentral to the EU-Graphite project is the upscaling of a hydrofluoric acid-free graphite purification technique. The industrial standard purification process to reach spherical purified graphite with a >99.95% graphite content is based on hydrofluoric acid (\"HF\") as the main leaching agent. However, HF is a highly hazardous and toxic chemical. Moreover, effluents containing fluorides, which are by-products from the use of HF purification, fall under the EU Water Framework Directive, requiring advanced treatment that makes large-scale HF-based purification economically and environmentally diffi...
