TROIS-RIVIERES, April 29 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Directors of
GlobeeCom International Inc. ("GlobeeCom") (TSX Venture : GBC) wishes to
announce that the Company's audited financial statements for the period ended
December 31, 2004, have been approved.
The Company recorded a net consolidated loss of $676,148 after CDTI
Research & Development tax credits of $98,250 and earned interest in the
amount of $2,123. However, it should be noted that this loss includes
recognition of stock-based remuneration of $264,495.
GlobeeCom was accredited as a CDTI (centre of development of information
technology) in 2001, in the category of business enterprises eligible for
admission to the Quebec Government program. CDTI credits offsetting against
eligible salaries are valid until 2013. Management believes that R&D-linked
and CDTI-linked credits will amount to $284,000 for the period ending
December 31, 2005.
Following the reverse takeover of September 9, 2004, GlobeeCom management
has undertaken the task of structuring its administrative, sales and
marketing, and research and development departments and is focussing on growth
strategies based on the acquisition of complementary businesses.
During its first quarter, subsequent to the reverse takeover, GlobeeCom
recorded income of $22,174. These results correspond to what management had
anticipated in sales revenue for the fourth quarter of 2004.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
A new Government of Quebec information tool (www.toutpourreussir.com) has
been launched, thanks to close collaboration with INEO (a firm specializing in
the production and distribution of information in the fields of education,
training and career choice). The use of GlobeMeeting technology know-how
resulted in the setting up of a service for online consultation with
specialists.
This service, on line since October 25, 2004, allows Quebecers to have
live discussions of career choices with "virtual" guidance counsellors. The
new service could run throughout the academic year, thus offering the
population the opportunity to consult specialists on line, who can provide
them with enhanced guidance through the academic system.
PROSPECTS FOR 2005
GlobeeCom will continue to develop markets both in Europe and in Canada.
The Development Plan is articulated round the following poles:
- Making promising acquisitions that will contribute not only to
increasing business volume and profits, but also to building up a
coherent block of operating units that form a whole, thanks to their
respective fields of action and skills.
- Concluding strategic agreements with suppliers of services,
distributors, and with European and North American partners, with a
view to the distribution and marketing of GlobeMeeting.
- The deployment of on-line solutions specially designed and
customized for governments and educational milieus.
