In 2003 and 2004, he served as Chairman of the Board\nof the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. From 2001 to 2004, he was Vice-\nPresident, Corporate Services for Bell Globemedia, the owner of various media\noutlets including CTV, The Globe and Mail and Sympatico-Lycos. Before joining\nthis organization, Mr. Gourd was President and Chief Executive Officer of BCE\nMedia. From 1994 to 1998, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer\nof Cancom, a company specializing in satellite communications and broadcasting\nservices.\nMr. Gourd has also held key positions in the federal civil service,\nincluding Associate Secretary to the Cabinet and Deputy Clerk of the Privy\nCouncil (1992-1994); Deputy Minister for Public Affairs in the Federal-\nProvincial Relations Office (1992); and consecutive assignments as Assistant\nDeputy Minister and Deputy Minister in the Department of Communications (1982-\n1992). He is currently head of his own company, Alain Gourd Communications\nInc.\nIn a second announcement that was made at the same time, Mrs. Jocelyne\nPelchat was confirmed as a member of GlobeeCom's Board where she will occupy\nthe position of vice-chairperson.\nMrs. Pelchat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (1963) from CollGege Marie-\nAnne (UniversitDe de MontrDeal), a Bachelor of Laws degree (1966) from the\nUniversitDe de MontrDeal and a postgraduate degree in international law from the\nLondon Institute of World Affairs (1968).\nShe was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada in\nFebruary 2005. Mrs. Pelchat is currently President and Chief Executive Officer\nof Entreprises Pelchat Moise inc., and has also acquired extensive experience\nin the media and publishing industries, as well as holding senior executive\npositions with the National Film Board of Canada, Telefilm Canada, Astral Film\nEnterprises and Quebecor.
