(SSA:TSX-V)\n(www.spectra-ssa.com) announced today that they have jointly developed a\nremote air brake diagnostic and monitoring solution for both trucks and\ntrailers.\nBrake problems on big trucks and buses can be identified and addressed\nimmediately with this remote monitoring system. This is the number one safety\nand maintenance concern with operators and regulators throughout North\nAmerica.\nSpectra Inc. has partnered with BSM Wireless to co-develop this remote\nbrake diagnostic monitoring system based on Spectra's proven brake sensor\ntechnology, coupled with the remote monitoring function of BSM Wireless'\ncutting edge vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions. This will ensure\nthat brake problems will be reported to maintenance in real time. In addition\nto monitoring through the Brake Inspector(R) in-cab display module, the BSM\ninterface will send an email alert in real time to the fleet maintenance\ndepartment as well as the driver so that the problem can be dealt with\nimmediately.\n\"The ability to identify a brake problem remotely, anywhere in North\nAmerica, will allow maintenance personnel to direct the driver to the nearest\nrepair facility and avoid costly roadside fines, reduce vehicle downtime and\nmitigate potential accidents\", said Spectra CEO Andrew Malion. \"We are\nthrilled to be part of what will be a quantum leap in preventative air brake\nmaintenance procedures.\"\n\"BSM Wireless' proprietary technologies provide the critical gateway\nnecessary to allow the active real-time monitoring of a vehicle's braking\nsystem, in addition to all the other monitoring services we provide. This\ncapability will allow BSM to gain additional revenue from that service\", said\nNick Cirella, CEO of BSM Wireless. \"The new system will combine the best of\nboth company's technologies and address a very serious need within the North\nAmerican trucking industry. Preventative maintenance of air braking systems\nand mandatory visual brake stroke adjustment checks has long been the norm and\nsoon we will be able to offer the industry the ability to remotely monitor\ntheir equipment to ensure their fleets safety and compliance\".\nThe first implementation of this new system will...
