(TSX-V GPG)\n("Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the following\nupdate:\n\n\nPass Property, Smithers, BC.\n\n\n----------------------------\n\n\nThe Company is in the process of signing a drill contract for up to\n2000 metres diamond drilling to commence early August with a local contractor\nbased in Smithers, B.C. It is anticipated that camp construction will begin\nthe week of July 28 and take a week to complete with drilling to follow\nshortly thereafter. The program will consist of approximately 40 holes that\nwill test the mineralization exposed in historic trenches on the property.\n\n\nThe drill program will focus on the high-grade gold-silver bearing\npolymetallic quartz veins from which selected grab samples collected in 2007\nassayed up to 72.95 g/t gold, 365 g/t silver, 1.218% copper, 29.0% lead and\n20.14% zinc.\n\n\nMerry Widow, Vancouver Island, BC.\n\n\n----------------------------------\n\n\nThe Company has initiated baseline environmental studies at the Merry\nWidow property within the drainage basin area of the past producing Merry\nWidow open pit. The water sampling program is being managed by Wardrop\nEngineering and is using local personnel from the Quatsino First Nation in an\nagreement between Grande Portage-Quatsino-Wardrop.\n\n\nThe program will entail monthly sample collection over a period of\napproximately one year to determine the baseline values in both the dry and\nwet season. The data will be used towards furthering development at the Merry\nWidow open pit. Personnel under the direction of Wardrop will collect the\nsamples, along with blank and duplicate samples for quality control measures,\nand submit them to Maxxam Analytics Inc. in Burnaby, B.C. for analysis.\n\n\nThe Company will drill between 1,000 to 2,000 metres of core to test for\nextensions of the known mineralization at Merry Widow open pit. The program\nwill focus over a strike length of 200 metres extending south of the pit to\nlink up with the Marten zone.
