(TSX-V GPG)\n("Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has\nreceived the final draft of the Wardrop Engineering study entitled "Merry\nWidow Project Mine Water Sampling Report."\n\n\nThe Report confirms that mine water quality meets the BC Final Effluent\nQuality Guidelines, which indicates that it will be possible to discharge the\nmine water to the receiving environment without requiring treatment beyond\nsettling for control of suspended solids. Given this finding, Grande Portage\nhas directed Wardrop to develop a conceptual engineering plan for dewatering\nthe underground workings. This plan will determine the quantity of mine water\nto be removed and the length of time necessary to initially dewater the\nunderground workings as well as the continued pumping rate necessary to keep\nthe workings dewatered during the underground exploration program. This plan,\nalong with the mine water quality data, will be used by Wardrop to develop the\nnecessary applications for regulatory approval, including a Notice of Work for\nthe underground exploration program.\n\n\nThe permitting process will involve several regulatory agencies, both\nprovincial and federal and the Company will continue to engage Wardrop\nEngineering to make the necessary permit applications and to manage the\ndewatering program. It is estimated that the permitting process will be a\nminimum of 6 months. The Company will treat this permit application process\nseparately from the surface exploration program in order to not delay the\nplanned drilling programs slated for 2008.\n\n\nWardrop officials spent time inspecting the underground decline and\ngathered numerous water samples. Samples related to the Old Sport Horizon\ninclude 2 samples from the underground workings, 1 sample from the 5549 adit,\nand 2 samples from the Benson River; upstream and downstream of the mine\nworkings. Additional samples from the area include 1 from the Merry Widow open\npit, 1 from the Kingfisher pit, 1 and 1 from a creek that transects the\nBluebird 1 and Bluebird 2 zones. The samples were tested for acidity and\nsuspended metals content as preliminary steps towards the Company's goal of\nobtaining a perm...
