(TSX-V GPG)\n("Grande Portage" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the start of its\nexploration programs for the Pass and Merry Widow Properties for the upcoming\n2008 season.\n\n\nPass Property\n\n\n-------------\n\n\nCrews are currently evaluating the snow conditions in the alpine regions\nof the property where the historic trenches will be cleaned, re-mapped and\nsystematically channel sampled prior to drill testing. During the same visit a\ncamp location will be selected for the grid based soil sampling and\nmagnetometer and VLF-EM surveys on the lower elevations aimed at locating\nextensions to the known mineralized quartz veins.\n\n\nIt is anticipated that the grid work can begin in a few weeks, followed\nby the evaluation of the old trenches in early July as a prelude to drilling\nin late July to early August. As previously announced the Company's sampling\nprogram was highly successful. In 2007, 44 rock grab samples were collected\nfrom old trenches hosting quartz-sulphide bearing veins.\n\n\nAll of the samples reported gold to a high of 72.95 g/t. Of the 44\nsamples collected 13 reported in excess of 5.0 g/t gold including 6 samples\nexceeding 20 g/t gold. Silver values were consistently anomalous with 6\nsamples reporting in excess of 100 g/t silver, to a high of 365 g/t silver.\nCopper, lead and zinc were similarly anomalous with highs of 11.13% copper,\n29.0% lead and 20.14% zinc.\n\n\nMerry Widow Property\n\n\n--------------------\n\n\nA prospecting crew has mobilized to the west side of Merry Widow Mountain\nto evaluate new and highly prospective airborne electromagnetic anomalies\nrevealed by the 2007 airborne geophysical survey. The Company is very\nencouraged by these anomalies as they appear to be in the contact zone between\nQuatsino limestone and the Merry Widow pluton, a highly favorable environment\nfor skarn mineralization exactly like that of the past producing Merry Widow\nopen pit and the underground operations at the Coast Copper and Benson Lake\nmines.\n\n\nThe intensity and length of the anomalies is significantly greater than\nthose outlined by the 2006 airborne survey that encompassed the past producing\nopen pit and underground mines. If the prospecting crews are successful then\ngrids will be established ov...
