[{"type":"text","content":"\n Grainger PLC\n07 January 2008\n\n7 January 2008\n\n\n\n Grainger plc (\"Grainger\")\n\n\n GRAINGER ACHIEVES PLANNING PERMISSION\n FOR MAJOR HAMPSHIRE MIXED-USE SCHEME\n\n\nGrainger plc, the UK's largest quoted residential property owner, is pleased to\nannounce that it has achieved planning permission for Newlands Common, its major\nresidential led mixed-use development, located west of Waterlooville in South\nHampshire.\n\n\nGrainger has completed the S.106 Agreement for the scheme, which will initially\nprovide 1,550 new homes and 100,000 sqm of commercial space on the 132 ha site.\n40% of the new homes will be affordable, a balanced mix of shared equity and\nsocial rented, in line with current government guidelines. Grainger owns\nadjoining land which has been identified by the Local Authorities as potentially\nsuitable for an additional 1,000 future dwellings.\n\n\nThis is a long term project that has been designed as an exemplar sustainable\nurban extension. Infrastructure works will commence shortly with the first land\nsales or housing starts due in the Autumn.
