[{"type":"text","content":"\n Gooch & Housego PLC\n6 March 2000\n\n\nGooch & Housego PLC hereby confirms they have been notified today by The Gooch\nCharitable Trust (Ilminster) that they have sold 90,000 ordinary shares in the\nCompany at a price of 300p per share, and a further 10,000 ordinary shares at a\nprice of 315p per share.\n\nThe Trust was set up in January 1998 with a donation, by Mrs. H. Virgin, of\n300,000 ordinary shares in Gooch & Housego PLC. The Trustee are J Letham and\nE Amor, who are independent of the Company, and Mrs. H. Virgin and A W Gooch\nwho are a Director and the Executive Chairman, respectively, of Gooch & Housego\nPLC.\n\nThe objects of the Trust are to hold the fund and its income for the benefit of\nthe town of Ilminster in Somerset, in particular the Trust is to preserve and\nmaintain, for the benefit of the public, the Parish Church of St Mary's and to\nsupport other local charities.\n\nIn accordance with the Trust deed both Mrs. H Virgin and A W Gooch abstained\nfrom the decision to sell these shares.
