[{"type":"text","content":"\n \nRNS Number : 0031Y Gooch & Housego PLC 23 February 2012 \n \n\n\n\n\n\nFor immediate release\n\n\n23 February 2012\n\n\n\n\n \nGooch & Housego PLC\n \nAppointment of non-executive director\n \nGooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of optical components and systems, today announces that Mr Mark Webster and Dr Peter Bordui were appointed to the Board as non-executive Directors at the board meeting held on 22nd February 2012.\n \nMark Webster, 50, has over twenty five years' experience in the healthcare industry in senior leadership roles for Abbott Laboratories, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Bayer Healthcare and ProStrakan. He is currently a director and Chief Executive Officer of Bio Products Laboratory Ltd. Previous roles include: -\n \n· Non-executive director of Abcam plc\n· Head of Global Strategic Marketing and North America for ProStrakan\n· Senior Vice President and Head of Global Strategic Marketing and Licensing/ Acquisitions for Bayer Healthcare and a member of Bayer's Pharmaceutical Management Committee \n· Head of Global Strategic Marketing and Licensing/Acquisitions for Shire Pharmaceuticals and a member of the Executive Committee\n· Head of the Pharmaceutical and Hospital Divisions in the UK, the Hospital Division in Canada and latterly as Vice President, Anti-Virals, US Pharmaceutical Division for Abbott Laboratories\n \nMr Webster holds an honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Durham.\n \nPeter Bordui, 51, has twenty-five years' experience in the photonics industry in senior leadership roles with Bookham, New Focus, JDSU and Crystal Technology (at the time a subsidiary of Siemens), and has held a number of additional non-executive director roles. He is currently a non-executive director of M-Squared Lasers Ltd., BeamExpress S.A. and Media Lario International S.A.
