[{"type":"text","content":"\n Gooch & Housego PLC\n27 November 2007\n\n\nFor immediate release 27 November 2007\n\n\n Gooch & Housego PLC\n\n Appointment of non-executive director\n\n\nGooch & Housego PLC, the specialist manufacturer of optical components and\nsystems, today announces that Mr Paul Heal will be joining the Board in a\nnon-executive position with effect from 2nd January 2008.\n\n\nPaul Heal, 57, has been a client service Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers for\nthe past 20 years, and retires later this year. Based in the Bristol office, he\nwas primarily responsible for middle market clients ranging from smaller listed\ncompanies (market cap <£250m) to venture capital backed and privately owned\nbusinesses. \n\nGooch & Housego PLC was a client of Mr Heal prior to September 2003. He advised\nthe company through the preparation for IPO, and acted as reporting accountant\nfor the flotation in 1997. Between 1997 and September 2003 he participated in\naudit committee meetings and advised on acquisitions.\n\n\nMr Heal will take up the position of Chair of the Audit Committee and will\nbecome a member of the Remuneration Committee of the Gooch & Housego Board.\n\n\nMr Heal is a non-executive director and member of the Finance Committee of\nTheatre Royal, Bath Limited, and is also a director of The Salisbury and\nShaftesbury Car Club Limited.\n\n\nThere are no other disclosures required under Schedule Two (g) of the AIM rules.\n\n\nGareth Jones, Chief Executive of Gooch & Housego, commented:\n\n\n'Gooch & Housego is fortunate to be gaining the wisdom and experience of Paul\nHeal.
