VANCOUVER, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - In 1997, Molycor Gold Corp. (MOR-TSX.V) and
Goldrea Resources Corp. (GOR-TSX.V) ("the Companies") identified platinum
group mineralization hosted in Jurassic age, quartz-poor pyroxenite on the
Dobbin property located near Tadpole Lake which is 27 km northwest of Kelowna,
BC. A total of 10 out of 21 diamond drill holes returned intersections with
significant copper, platinum and palladium values, including drill hole 97-21
which returned assay values 0.35 g/t Pt, 0.41 g/t Pd and 0.19% Cu across a
width of 111 meters. In 2005, The Companies have carried out a program of 17
km of induced polarization geophysical surveying on the Dobbin property, under
the direction of Andris Kikauka, P.Geo., a qualified person under NI 43-101.
Survey results, compiled by SJ Geophysics Ltd, indicate there are four (4)
distinct chargeability anomalies as described below:
1. 'Central Zone' (4900N-5000N and 4750E-4850E)- This area is where most
of the previous drilling took place, and the stronger chargeability
values occurred 200 meters west of the center of the 'Central Zone'
indicating that further exploration for copper, platinum and
palladium is warranted tracing the west extension of mineralization
encountered in drill hole 97-21 (in addition to 9 other drill holes
which are mostly southwest and northeast of DDH-97-21).
2. 'Southwest Zone' (4700N-4850N and 4550E-4650E)- Also known as the
'Kenny 2000 Zone' in the north. The combination of a high
chargeability anomaly to the west and high resistivity in the east
portion of the 'Southwest Zone' and a strong copper in soil
geochemical anomaly in the center suggests that the additional
drilling is warranted 100-300 meters south of the 'Kenny 2000 Zone'
in the center and south portion of the 'Southwest Zone'.
3. 'Mag Anomaly Zone' (5450N-5550N and 4850E-4950E)- This zone features
a very strong total field magnetic anomaly and corresponds to a
strong chargeability response. The 'Mag Anomaly Zone' probably
contains abundant magnetite. On the Dobbin property, magnetite is
closely associated with copper, platinum and palladium bearing
mineralization. This exploration target also features a strongly
anomalous copper in soil geochemical anomaly that coincides with the
magnetometer and chargeability geophysical anomalies.
4. 'Northeast Zone'- (5575N-5625N and 5825E-5875E)- A strong
chargeability and resistivity anomaly coincide with strongly
anomalous copper in soil geochemistry.
Results of the survey over the Tadpole Lake Moly and the Flap Gold
prospect have not been received as yet.
The Companies are planning to test the exploration targets of the Tadpole
Lake anomaly, with a series of drill holes that are accessible by a road
network that exists on the property. The program is being managed by Dick
Addison, P.Eng., a qualified person under NI 43-101. Drill results from the 30
hole program on the Crowrea moly project are expected shortly and will be
released when they are received.
