[{"type":"text","content":"\n \n\n\n\n\n Goldplat plc / Ticker: GDP / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining & Exploration\n\n13 April 2010\n\n Goldplat plc ('Goldplat' or 'the Company')\n Burkina Faso Gold Project Update\n\nGoldplat plc, the AIM quoted gold producer, is pleased to provide an update on\nits exploration programme for the prospective 246 sq km Nyieme Gold Project\n('Nyieme Project') in Burkina Faso.\n\nOverview:\n\n * Intention to prove up the viability and production potential of the Nyieme\n project, and to test for further anomalies on the property\n * A phased approach to the exploration programme being implemented\n\n * Phase 1 - a trenching programme over areas of geophysical and soil\n sampling anomalies scheduled to start in May 2010\n * Phase 2 - a 1,250m diamond drilling ('DD') programme over the area\n previously drilled by Sanu Exploration ('BVI') Limited ('Sanu') -\n scheduled to start on completion of Phase 1, expected August 2010\n * 11 hole DD programme will test in depth the high grade zones and strike\n lengths\n * Budget for Phases 1 and 2 circa US$240,000\n * Targeting a JORC-compliant resource following completion of Phases 1 and\n 2\n * Phase 3 - follow-up DD drilling based on results from Phases 1 and 2 to\n further define the economic potential of the project\n\nGoldplat CEO Demetri Manolis said, \"We are highly confident about the potential\nof the Nyieme Project in Burkina Faso and have therefore devised an extensive\nexploration programme to test both the existing high grade targets, which\ninclude 3m @ 17.48 g/t gold as well as potential new areas of mineralisation.\nThe West African region is attracting significant investment due to the\nrecognised prospectivity of Burkina Faso, Ghana and Mali, and we believe through\nexploration we can significantly improve the value of the Nyieme Project.\"\n\nExploration Programme:\n\nThe exploration programme is designed to achieve two major objectives:\n\n1. To extensively trench the geochemical and geophysical anomaly which extends\nto the south along the same trend as the veins drilled in the Nyieme prospect.\n This trenching will cover a strike length of 6km.  Additional trenching will be\nconducted on a strong Induced Polarisation ('IP') anomaly which lays parallel\nand 2.5 km to the east of the main anomaly.\n\n2.
