(\"Goldgroup\" or\n the \"Company\") (TSX:GGA) is pleased to announce that it has completed\n the next stage of its permitting process at the Caballo Blanco project\n by submitting responses to the list of comments from the Secretaría de\n Medio Ambiente y Recurso Naturales (\"SEMARNAT\"), also known as the\n Ministry of Environmental and Natural Resources, received on March 13,\n 2012, regarding its previously submitted Environmental Impact Statement\n (\"EIS\").  Goldgroup's responses were filed within the 60 working day\n timeframe provided by SEMARNAT.  The responses are standard procedure\n in the environmental permitting process and are meant to clarify\n certain aspects of Goldgroup's permit application, as well as\n facilitate SEMARNAT's review of the EIS.  The environmental permitting\n process is governed by Mexican federal law and regulations.\n\n\nBackground for the Environmental Impact Statement and Change of Soil Use\n Permitting Application \n\n\nAs previously disclosed, Goldgroup requires two independent\n environmental permits in order to commence construction at the Caballo\n Blanco project.  The two permits are the EIS and the Estudio Técnico\n Justificativo para Cambio de Uso de Suelo\" (\"ETJ\"), also known as the\n Change of Soil Use Permit.\n\n\nThe EIS application was submitted by Goldgroup to SEMARNAT on December\n 15, 2011.  Formal comments from SEMARNAT in regards to Goldgroup's EIS\n application were received by the Company on March 13, 2012.  The\n comments requested more information on risk mitigation, along with\n environmental protection and rehabilitation of several aspects of the\n proposed mining operations.\n\n\nAs of the date of this news release, Goldgroup has addressed all of\n SEMARNAT's comments and provided a detailed written response to\n SEMARNAT within the required 60 working day response time.  Goldgroup\n will continue to ensure that the best interests of all stakeholders are\n factored into the development process of the project.  Following the\n receipt of this written response from Goldgroup, SEMARNAT will further\n evaluate the comments.
