[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nVANCOUVER, Jan. 14 /CNW/ - Goldmember Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: "GMV") ("the\nCompany" or "Goldmember") is pleased to announce that it has commenced field\nwork for its 2008 exploration program to be conducted on its 100% owned\nNechako and Alexis properties in central British Columbia.\n\n\nCommencing immediately, Goldmember intends to aggressively explore both\nproperties by diamond drill testing numerous IP and geochemical anomalies on\nthe completed grids with 2,000-3,000 metres planned for the Nechako property\nand 1,000-2,000 metres for the Alexis property. Additional ground surveys will\ncommence on new targets.\n\n\nAlexis Property\n---------------\nThis week Company crews will be dispatched to:\n\n1. establish a base camp location\n2. complete a detailed ground magnetic survey of approximately\n 100 line-kilometres on the existing grid over the Quartz Lake area,\n also known as the Maxwell area (southwest corner of the property)\n3. extend the existing grid to the northeast and southwest to continue\n tracing the open-ended IP chargeability conductor with approximately\n 25-30 line-kilometres of grid and complete both IP and magnetic\n surveys on the new grid\n4. evaluate the new data and plan drill holes to test the anomalies.\n\n\nThis pre-drilling program is estimated to take 4-6 weeks to complete\nafter which the drill program will immediately commence. The drilling will\ncomprise 1,000-2,000 metres in 4-8 holes and will test both high chargeability\nand high resistivity targets. It is anticipated that the drilling will take up\nto one month to complete.\n\n\nIn addition to testing the Quartz Lake/Maxwell area preliminary work will\ncommence on the Sinterella area, 30 kilometres in the northwest portion of the\nproperty. This area was highlighted from the interpretation of the regional\nmagnetics data. This area covers a large cinder cone and limited geochemical\nsamples from the area show anomalous values in gold, arsenic and lead. The\nmagnetics data suggest the presence of a large, deep structure that is bound\nto the north and south by northwest trending faults. Initial work will\ncomprise grid establishment over favourable structural trends for subsequent\nground magnetic and IP surveys.\n\n\nNechako Property\n\n\n----------------\n\n\nThe following program is planned for the N...
