But FutureMetrics now views Japan as the next country to experience a boom in pellet use.This is because the Japanese government’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expects biomass to contribute 4.3% of the country’s energy supply by 2030. This is forecast to come from an installed capacity of 6,150 megawatts. The Japanese regulators have set a 41% generation efficiency requirement for all large coal power generation stations to be met by 2030.
