Opportunity of Fuel Pellet Industry in Malaysia

Malaysia, Wednesday March 7, 2018 – One of the major opportunities and advantages to expand the fuel pellet industry in Malaysia is positive support from Malaysia government. Numerous policies, strategies, grants and incentive have been established to promote biomass and bioenergy industries in Malaysia.

The policies and strategies include Fifth Fuel Policy 2001, National Biotechnology Policy 2005, National Biofuel Policy 2006, National Green Technology Policy 2009, Renewable Energy Act 2011,  National Biomass Strategy 2020, Bio Economy Transformation Program, SME Master Plan 2012-2020 etc.

To nurture the biomass industry’s downstream processing, direct and indirect funding in term of grants (e.g. InnoFund, TechnoFund) and soft loans (e.g. Green Technology Financing Schemes), along with tax incentives (Investment Tax Allowance, Pioneer Status) were also established in Malaysia.
