This is a significant problem in the\nUnited States, where aging underground pipes typically lose more than 20\npercent of treated water before it reaches customers. In addition to wasting\nwater and energy, leaking pipes result in hundreds of daily water main breaks that\ncause extensive damage and disrupt business.\n\nBAMI-I provide a center of excellence for owners of underground water\ninfrastructure to join with industry and researchers, using sound science, to\nevaluate and develop buried asset management protocols to benefit ratepayers\nand other stakeholders by: \n •\nprotecting public health\n •\nmaximizing asset lifecycle value\n •\nimproving the environment\n •\nsustaining economic development\n\n •\nenhancing the quality of life \n\n“Sustainable cities must improve efficiency in their water infrastructure,”\nsaid Erik Hromadka, CEO of Global Water Technologies. “This requires new ideas\nand collaboration among water utilities, community leaders, research\nuniversities and innovative companies.”\n\n \n\nMore information about BAMI-I is available at: www.bami-i.com\n\n \n\nGlobal Water Technologies is seeking municipal and financial\npartners for a pilot project in the U.S. to demonstrate how the new technology\ncan provide early leak detection and reduce water main breaks. Communities\ninterested in participating in a pilot project should contact the company.\n\n \n\nMore information ab...
