[{"type":"text","content":"\nWestern Troy Stakes Claims on Vanadium/Selenium/Silver/Lead/Zinc Prospect in the Gaspe Region of Quebec\n\n(via Thenewswire.ca)\n\n \nApril 10, 2012, Toronto, Ontario - Western Troy Capital Resources (TSX\nVenture: WRY, US-OTC: WTCRF) (Western Troy or the Company) announced\ntoday it has made application for map-staked claims on a sedimentary\nhosted Vanadium-Selenium-Silver-Lead-Zinc prospect in the Gaspe area\nof Quebec. A total of 100 claims totalling approximately 5,000\nhectares have been recorded. The claims cover Carboniferous aged\nsediments that have been recently found to host Sandstone type\nvanadium-selenium mineralization as well as Mississippi Valley type\nlead-zinc-silver mineralization.\n\n\n \nThe property appears to present a unique exploration opportunity in\nQuebec. The Carboniferous aged sedimentary basin covers an area of\napproximately 250 square kilometres in the Gaspe area of Quebec. The\nmineralized showing was discovered by previous owners by visual\nprospecting in 2005. No work appears to have been done on the\nproperty prior to 2003. The property has not seen systematic\ngeological mapping, geochemistry, geophysics or diamond drilling.\n\n\n \nThe Mississippi Valley type mineralization appears to be similar in\nstyle and genesis to lead-zinc-silver deposits in Carboniferous aged\nsediments in Newfoundland, Ireland and the Eastern United States. All\nof these regions are close to the Iapetus Suture related to the\nopening of the Atlantic rift and continental plate movements.\n\n\n \nThe mineralization is contained in near-horizontal sedimentary\nhorizons. The mineralized zone has been traced for approximately 150\nmeters along the bank of a river and is open in both directions. A\nsimilar mineralized section has been located approximately 800 meters\nnorthwest along strike and may be the same horizon or a similar\nparallel sedimentary layer. A major fault structure passes beneath\nthe sedimentary basin in the vicinity of the river bed and\nmineralization.\n\n\n \nA total of 22 historical, representative grab samples were taken on\nthe mineralized showing over a strike length of 150 meters. Twelve\nsamples were taken by the original owners of the property (Quebec\nAssessment Files GM63273) and 10 samples were taken by another\nindependent company that was examining the property (Quebec Assessment\nFi...
