About this update from Gb Group Plc

[{"type":"text","content":"\n GB Group PLC\n09 October 2006\n\n\nFor immediate release: 09 October 2006\n\n\n GB GROUP PLC\n ('GB' or the 'Group')\n\nGB Launches New Service Allowing Online Gaming Businesses to Exclude US Customers\n\nAs previously announced, the introduction of new US legislation on 30 September\n2006, if signed into law, will effectively make Online Gaming illegal in the\nUSA.\n\nGB Group has responded quickly to this development and announces today that it\nhas extended its international identity verification technology, ID3 (TM), to\ninclude the capability for its clients to monitor the geographic location of\ntheir customers. The service, included as part of GB's new international age and\nidentity verification service called ID3-Check, will enable Online Gaming\nbusinesses to identify instantly where a customer is located before processing\ntheir application. They can then either divert the applicant to a legal 'free\nplay' area on their site or block the transaction altogether. The ID3-Check\nservice will be launched to the world's largest gaming businesses at the\nindustry's flagship event in Barcelona this week, EIG (European I-Gaming) Expo\n(www.eigexpo.com).\n\nID3-Check provides the Online Gaming industry with the ability to confirm the\nage and identity of a customer and then monitor the location of all transactions\ncoming from that account on an ongoing basis. ID3-Check will be used for the\nverification of overseas citizens in 21 countries.\n\nRichard Law CEO commented: 'GB's strategy for electronic age and identity\nverification is to provide a service of the highest quality and reliability. This is based on innovation and the latest web services\ntechnology and it has enabled us to fast track this solution to meet the needs\nof our Online Gaming clients.\n\nAlthough ID3-Check is being launched to the Online Gaming sector first, I expect\nthe greatest long term potential for this International service to come from the\nglobal Financia...
