(NASDAQ: GALT), the leading developer of therapeutics that target galectin proteins, today reported financial results and provided a business update for the quarter ended September 30, 2021. Through Dr. Carson’s introductions, we met and retained new oncology consultants who are each affiliated with prestigious university medical centers. These consultants will assist us with strategic planning for the development of belapectin in cancer indications. Such a Company-sponsored oncology program would complement our existing NASH cirrhosis program and leverage belapectin’s potential as a galectin-3 inhibitor. Galectin-3 plays a major role in liver cirrhosis and is also strongly associated with cancer progression.
