TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Gabriel Resources Ltd.
("Gabriel") is pleased to announce that Yani Roditis, has accepted the
position of Vice President - Projects of Gabriel and will assume his duties on
July 21, 2005.
"Yani Roditis brings extensive engineering, environmental permitting and
operations experience to Gabriel," commented Alan R. Hill, Gabriel's President
and Chief Executive Officer. "His experience in developing environmental
impact assessments for world scale projects in South America will directly
benefit Gabriel's permitting efforts for its Rosia Montana project in Romania
and we look forward to his joining Gabriel."
During Mr. Roditis' 11 year career with Barrick Gold Corporation, he
gained extensive engineering, environmental permitting and mine development
experience through a number of positions at Barrick's operating mines and
development projects in the United States, Peru, Chile and Argentina. Most
recently he served as Technical Services Manager for the Chile/Argentina
region.
Mr. Roditis holds two Master of Science degrees from the University of
Arizona, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the National Technical
University in Athens, Greece.
Mr. Richard Hill, the General Manager of Gabriel's 80% owned Romanian
subsidiary Rosia Montana Gold Corporation S.A., has resigned his position in
order to pursue other activities. "Everyone at Gabriel appreciates all that
Richard did to bring us to this stage in the project," said CEO Alan R. Hill.
"We thank him for his service, and wish him the best in his next endeavour."
Gabriel is a Canadian based resource company engaged in the exploration
and development of mineral properties in Romania and is presently continuing
the development of its Rosia Montana gold-silver project in Romania.
