[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\nExpert Team Was Convened by Romanian and Hungarian Government\n\n\nTSX Trading Symbol: GBU\n\n\nTORONTO, March 2 /CNW/ - The Independent Group of International Experts\n(IGIE) Report on the Rosia Montana Project is now publicly released. The IGIE\npanel - also known as the Ad Hoc Group - was convened in 2006 by the agreement\nof the Romanian and Hungarian Governments for the purposes of reviewing the\nRomanian gold mining project and its impacts. The IGIE Report reaches the core\nconclusion that the EIA for the Rosia Montana Project is "well developed."\n\n\n"We are very appreciative of the expert review conducted by the IGIE,"\nsaid Alan R. Hill, CEO of Gabriel Resources. "It is clear the panel worked\nthrough the entirety of our 5,000 page EIA, which makes it all the more\nheartening that they find our project well developed." The IGIE panel is\ncomposed of six mining and environmental experts, two each from Hungary and\nRomania, with the rest of the EU represented by members from Sweden and\nGermany.\n\n\nThe IGIE Report includes a number of recommendations, which it defines as\n"observations which may bring improvement in the management of the project,\nbut (are) not considered an absolute requirement that they should be\nimplemented," and concerns, which "require action from decision makers,\nauthorities, and/or designers."
