WINNIPEG, Sept. 12 /CNW/ - Wildcat Exploration Ltd. (TSXV-WEL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Fedikow, Ph.D., P. Geo. and Paul G. Spry, Ph.D. to its newly-formed Technical Advisory Panel.
Dr. Fedikow received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Windsor and subsequently received a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada scholarship to attend the School of Applied Geology at the University of New South Wales, Australia where he was awarded a Ph.D. in Exploration Geochemistry.
In his career, Dr. Fedikow has worked for a number of junior and major mining companies as well as the Manitoba Geological Survey where he was Chief Geologist of the Mineral Deposits section, working in all of the significant mining camps in Manitoba. In 2001, he received the Provincial Geologists' Gold Medal, a national Canadian award in the geosciences. Dr. Fedikow had input to Wildcat's recent mobile metal ions surveys on the Foster River Zinc Project in Saskatchewan and its gold and nickel-copper-platinum-palladium projects in the Reed Lake Greenstone Belt of Manitoba, which resulted in new information that the Company is using to interpret and advance those projects.
Dr. Spry is a professor in the Department of Geological and Atmospheric Sciences, Iowa State University. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, and he earned his doctorate at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Spry, who has co-authored three books and numerous refereed papers and abstracts, is an internationally recognized expert on the genesis of ore deposits. His work on the geology and geochemistry of the Broken Hill orebody in Australia and similar mineralization around the world is particularly relevant to Wildcat's Foster River Project. Samples obtained from this property during the 2007 summer exploration program are currently undergoing geochemical, petrological, and mineralogical analysis under the direction of Dr. Spry.
"Mark and Paul are eminent explorationists and we are pleased to have attracted experts of their stature to our Technical Advisory Panel," commented John Knowles, President and CEO of Wildcat. "We look forward to receiving their input as we advance Wildcat's current holdings and evaluate potential new projects."
