(TSX-V: FRI)\nannounces the appointment of Dr. Derek Wilton, Ph.D., P.Geo., to the Advisory\nBoard. Dr. Wilton is a well-known geologist and professor of mineral deposits\nand metallogenic research at Memorial University, St. John's, Newfoundland and\nLabrador (NL). Dr. Wilton, a St. John's native, received his B.Sc. from MUN,\nhis M.Sc. from the University of British Columbia, and his Ph.D. from MUN, and\nis thus familiar with the geology of both NL and BC. Since 1984, he has been a\nfaculty member at MUN and engaged in mineral deposit research in Newfoundland,\nand especially Labrador. Dr. Wilton will be involved in the Hutton heavy\nmineral sands project as well as the Notakwanon and Cabot Lake nickel\nproperties near Voisey's Bay in Labrador. His broad knowledge and varied background in both Labrador and B.C.\ngives strategic experience and further depth to the company."\n\n\nDr. Wilton's work in northern Labrador was broadcast this past Sunday as\nthe subject of a Nature of Things episode, airing again tomorrow,\nSeptember 27, on CBC Newsworld at 10 PM EST/PST. He has conducted wide-spread\nresearch from Cape Chidley to southern Labrador since 1984, and has been both\nAssistant and Acting Director of the Labrador Institute. In 1991-92, he\nchaired a MUN group that developed the Labrador Ecosystem Analysis Facility\nconcept - the fore-runner of the Institute of Environmental Monitory and\nResearch based in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.\n\n\nDr. Wilton is also the Geology 101 columnist for the Northern Miner. He\nis a renowned lecturer and has been invited to speak at numerous geological\nand non-geological venues. Wilton is also the recipient of many awards,\nincluding the Education Award from the Professional Engineers and\nGeoscientists of NL for outstanding contributions to Geoscience Education\n(2004), the Volunteer Service Award by the Geological Association of Canada\n(2002), and the W.H. Gross Medal by the Mineral Deposits Division of the\nGeological Association of Canada (1991). He was named Fellow of Canadian\nInstitute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM) in 1999, and Atlantic Provin...
