About this update from Freeport Resources Inc.
[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\n>\n\nVANCOUVER, June 26 /CNW/ - FREEPORT RESOURCES INC. is pleased to announce\nthat it has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for its Hutton Project in\nnorthern Labrador. Freeport welcomes submissions from interested parties, with\na written Expression of Interest requested by July 31, 2006 to facilitate\nproperty visits and shipment of bulk sample material stockpiled in eastern\nCanada. The RFP outlining the Hutton development opportunity will be available\nfor viewing at sedar.com as a public company document of Freeport Resources.\nZD Hora, PGeo, is the Qualified Person who has reviewed this news release.\nThe Hutton garnet beaches are located on tidewater on Canada's east coast\nen route to major industrial markets. They are red in colour due to remarkably\nhigh grades of alluvial garnet and clearly visible on satellite images.\nImportantly, the garnet is geologically 'young', freed from the rock during\nthe last ice age, with a sub-angular shape naturally suited to waterjet\ncutting. Hutton garnet is well-sorted and of proven high quality with few\ninclusions and fractures, comparing well with high-end commercial products.\nAccordingly, the Hutton project has received significant international\nattention.\nWaterjet testing of several Hutton concentrates produced with distinct\nprocessing methods has verified they meet or exceed the performance of\ncommercially available products. The most recent waterjet tests of Hutton\nproduct in Canada & Europe were very successful, with requests for additional\nmaterial for larger-scale tests. Recent work at the Minerals Engineering\nCentre at Dalhousie University, Halifax, confirms that waterjet-quality\nproduct can be made with limited processing consisting of high-grade spiral\nseparation, induced roll magnetic separation and sieving.\nFounding Director, Michael Roberts, PE (Purdue), states, \"Freeport\ncelebrates its 25th anniversary in 2006, and I believe it will be a landmark\nyear in many ways. We are all very pleased with the Hutton garnet testing, and\nespecially appreciate Government's support in the form of an Export Market\nDevelopment Grant from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
