About this update from Freeport Resources Inc.

[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\n>\n\nVANCOUVER, Oct. 30 /CNW/ - FREEPORT RESOURCES INC. is pleased to provide\nan update on its Hutton property, Labrador. The Request for Proposals (RFP)\nprocess has been extended six weeks to permit completion of the proposals,\nwith final submissions to be received by January 17, 2007. The RFP outlining\nthe Hutton development opportunity is available at sedar.com as a public\ncompany document of Freeport Resources, filed June 27, 2006.\nFreeport's Hutton project consists of several high grade heavy mineral\nsand beaches on Canada's east coast, composed largely of alluvial almandine\ngarnet. Test work has proven that Hutton garnet is well suited to waterjet\ncutting due to grain sizing, sub-angular shape and lack of inclusions. Hutton\nconcentrates have met or exceeded performance of commercially available\nwaterjet products. Processing consists of straightforward, environmentally\nfriendly techniques such as wet gravity methods, magnetic separation and\nsieving. The Hutton project continues to attract world-wide interest,\nespecially as high quality garnet is in high demand in both North America &\nEurope.\nDerek White, formerly of GMA Garnet, Australia, notes a \"successful\nglobal garnet producer\" must:\n\n>\n\nWhite's criteria tend \"to favour alluvial deposits over hard rock\noccurrences...\" supported by \"a high class distribution network, and the sales\nvolume and the physical and financial capability to make bulk shipments...\"\nFreeport believes that the RFP process will greatly assist in moving the\nHutton project forward to the next level.\nWork this year at the Hutton consisted of archeological, surveying and\nmarine studies in advance of next summer's program, the first stage of which\nis planned to include a 5,000 tonne sample to test logistical approaches, as\nwell as baseline studies. Various mineral processing studies on the 2005 bulk\nsample are currently underway.\nA detailed review of Freeport's landholdings is included in the\nManagement Discussion & Analysis for the quarter ended July 31, 2006, filed at\nsedar.com.\n\nRespectfully submitted,\n\n\"Brenda Clark\"\n\nBrenda Clark, MAIBC\nPresident\n\nTHE TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE HAS NOT REVIEWED AND DOES NOT ACCEPT\nRESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ADEQUACY OR ACCURACY OF THE CONTENT OF THIS NEWS\nRELEASE.\n\n%SEDAR: 00006031E\n\n\n","length":2719,"t...
