(TSX:FTS) today announced its\nnewly formed Board of Directors.\n\n\n"To be successful, a utility must be operated and managed in the\ncommunity it serves," says Stan Marshall, President and Chief Executive\nOfficer, Fortis Inc. "The establishment of the Terasen Board of Directors\ncompletes a significant step as planned when Fortis announced its acquisition\nof Terasen last May. Like all of our utilities, Terasen operates as a\nstand-alone company with its own Board of Directors who will provide oversight\nto the company as it remains focused on meeting the needs of its customers,"\nhe adds.\n\n\nBoard members will be directors for both Terasen Inc. and Terasen Gas\nInc. Terasen Inc. is the parent company of the Terasen Gas companies, which\ndeliver natural gas and propane safely and reliably to more than 900,000 homes\nand businesses in B.C., representing 95 per cent of all natural gas customers\nin the province, and Terasen Energy Services, an emerging company focused on\nintegrating alternative energy into district energy systems.\n\n\n"We are fortunate to have this calibre of talent on our boards. Goodreau - is the President and CEO of the Vancouver Coastal\n Health Authority.\n\n- Harry McWatters - is the founder and President of the Sumac Ridge\n Estate Wine Group, and is a leader in the British Columbia wine\n industry.\n\n- Linda S. Petch - is the President of Petch & Associates Management\n Consultants Ltd., which provides governance and accountability\n framework services to Boards.\n\n- David R. Podmore - is the President and CEO of Concert Properties\n Ltd., a national real estate enterprise.\n\nThe newly appointed members join board members appointed from within the\nFortis Inc. group of companies, including:\n\n- H.
