I have the opportunity to share my reflections from this past year. There is no denying that 2017 has already been an explosive year in customer service. Chatbots and artificial intelligence are hitting headlines every day, streamlining service and response. I find it remarkable to see the speed of technology in this new space of social customer service. But I believe that at the same time, poor customer service choices, such as what occurred on United Airlines recently, reminds the entire world what else technology can do, and why social media is at the top of every top company’s agenda. Customer service disaster after disaster continue to occur across many sectors telling me that even if technology is getting more complex, customer service needs to do the opposite: a simple, fast, direct response is the most effective path to success. The future is social, and I believe that Gripevine is leading the revolution of social customer service. \n Technology has ushered in positive changes across all business sectors, yet amazingly, I think customer service seems to be an area which is not getting better over time, but worse. The world seems to be crying out for a platform like Gripevine where all sides can “Be Heard”. The customer service process is way too complicated with methods and strategies, and Gripevine is here to remind everyone that customer service is not complex: companies simply need to listen to consumers, while consumers need to be patient and work with companies towards a mutual resolution, and only then will amicable results happen. Sitting where I am, at the helm of one the easiest social CRM platforms to engage on, I see every media frenzy and PR disaster as an opportunity; an opportunity to turn negative experiences into positive outcomes, and an opportunity for Gripevine and its shareholders to benefit from the movement towards amicable social customer service solutions across every business sector.
