This is one of the key markers for a mineralized copper\nporphyry.”\n \n \n \n \n Groat added: “All of this information reinforces the\npremise that Deer Horn supports a copper porphyry system in an area\nthat has never been drilled. The initial drilling in September will\ngive us further crucial information.”\n \n \n \n \n The sampling team, consisting of graduate students from\nthe University of British Columbia and the University of St. Andrews,\ncollected 130 rock samples from the property. Of the 130 samples, 119\nare in for assays and four are undergoing U-Pb zircon geochronology to\nhelp understand the age of the rocks\n \n \n and the\nsequence of geological events\n \n \n . Five samples are\nreceiving thin-section petrographic analysis, and 10 are undergoing\nX-ray powder diffraction analysis.\n \n \n \n \n “The X-ray diffraction is incredibly useful for\nsorting out mineralogy,” said Groat. “It will go a long way in\nhelping us understan...
