Mar. 16, 2011 (Filing Services Canada) -- Maudore Minerals Ltd. (MAO - TSX Venture, M6L - FWB),is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Weston, to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Weston received his degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University in Montreal. His previous work experience in Quebec includes serving as Mine and Mill Superintendents at the Casa Berardi Mine, Manager of Projects at the Sigma-Lamaque Mine and General Manager of Ross Finlay Mining Contractor in the Val d'Or region. He has also served at the General Manager level at various mining operations in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, British Columbia, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and Mexico.
Ronald Shorr, Maudore's CEO, stated: "Kevin Weston has a great track record of creating and improving efficiency in the operations of both underground and open pit mining situations. I'm confident he has the skill set and experience Maudore has been seeking to move our Comtois Project from advanced exploration through development and a production decision, with the Company assessing the best return of shareholder value along these strategic stages. Kevin's Quebec experience and background will be a great asset to Maudore for its corporate development and growth plans. His recent positions include serving as COO of Farallon Mining and VP-Operations for Capstone Mining; these roles provided ideal experience for his responsibilities at Maudore."
Mr. Weston will join Maudore officially on March 29. Some of his first responsibilities will include evaluating Maudore's ongoing metallurgical testing and exploration, initiating environmental baseline work, and working with the exploration team to direct future activities with the goal of moving the Comtois project towards production readiness.
