[{"type":"text","content":"\n\n\n\n\n\nTSX-V: SRD\n\n\nTORONTO, Aug. 1, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Strait Gold Corporation has changed\n its name to Strait Minerals Inc. (\"Strait\" or the \"Company\") (TSXV:\n SRD) to better reflect its exploration activities. Effective August 1,\n 2012, the Company commenced to trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under\n its new name. There is no change in the Company's share capital and its\n trading symbol remains SRD.\n\n\n\"Gold continues to be an important target in our exploration efforts,\n but our portfolio is much broader than just gold,\" said Strait\n President Jim Borland. \"At our Alicia Project, where drilling is\n scheduled to begin this month, the primary metal of interest is copper\n with gold an important potential credit. Our other properties feature\n copper, molybdenum and silver as well as gold.\"\n\n\nThe Company is also pleased to provide further results from surface\n sampling at Alicia. Channel chip sampling of porphyry outcrop from the\n main Alicia intrusive complex was carried out along two north-south\n oriented sections corresponding to proposed drill sections. Samples\n were typically two metres in length and were collected continuously\n where outcrop was present. Results of the sampling will provide\n guidance for the upcoming drill program. Further channel sampling of\n the intrusive complex along parallel north-south sections is in\n progress.\n\n\nResults received to date indicate that the highest copper values (up to 0.32% Cu over two metres\n along Section 1 and 0.83% Cu over two metres along section 2) are\n located in porphyry P2, near the north contact with porphyry P1.\n Overall, the results from Section 2 are better than those of Section 1,\n reflecting the presence of more mineralized P2 porphyry along the\n Section 2 line. Highlights are given in the following table:\n\n\nSection #\n\n\nChannel Length in metres\n\n\nCu (%)\n\n\n1\n\n\n4\n\n\n0.19\n\n\nincluding\n\n\n2\n\n\n0.32\n\n\n \n\n\n6\n\n\n0.09\n\n\nincluding\n\n\n4\n\n\n0.12\n\n\n2\n\n\n10\n\n\n0.18\n\n\nincluding\n\n\n2\n\n\n0.38\n\n\n2\n\n\n10\n\n\n0.35\n\n\nincluding\n\n\n8\n\n\n0.41\n\n\nincluding\n\n\n4\n\n\n0.56\n\n\n2\n\n\n8\n\n\n0.11\n\n\n2\n\n\n2\n\n\n0.15\n\n\n2\n\n\n2\n\n\n0.83\n\n\n\n\n\nQuality Control and Quality Assurance\nAll sampling at Alicia is supervised by Strait Minerals personnel.\n Samples are pla...
